During their stay in Öhringen students who take part in the Comenius Project from Northern Ireland, Spain, France, England and Germany went on a field trip to a forest . This trip was an extension of the the project „Increasing sustainability and reducing costs at schools“. The children took keen interest in explanations of the Mr Arnold, the local ranger. They got to know basic information on German forests. Mr Arnold focused on aspects of sustainability and explained how ecology and economy can coexist without damaging the forests or different species depending on a healthy habitat. He showed the students how to measure the size of a tree or how to determine the age of trees as well.
